The Vancouver Sun and Global TV both interviewed Dr. Scott Lear regarding recent grant funding received to continue and expand research on interactive Internet-based chronic disease management. Dr. Lear and his team at the BC Alliance on Telehealth Policy and Research have been awarded a $1,000,000 grant by the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research in partnership with Providence Health Care, BC Ministry of Health, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, Vancouver Island Coastal Health Authority, Fraser Health Authority, Interior Health Authority and Northern Health Authority to continue investigating the potential of supplying people in rural communities with a virtual chronic disease management program.
