Registration is still open for the 2009 Canadian Society of Telehealth Annual Conference which will be taking place in Vancouver, from October 3-6. This year's conference theme is The Changing Climate of Care - Telehealth's Role, and promises to address the following facets of telehealth:
Telehealth at Home and in the Community: Home, mobile and internet telehealth successes, failures, and modality comparisons.
Telehealth as a Green Solution: How telehealth or ehealth applications have reduced travel, transfers or hospital stays; measuring the impacts (good and bad) for the environment and forecasting for the future.
Patient and Provider Experience: Viewing telehealth from the user’s perspective, user needs, expectations, satisfaction and clinical or educational outcomes. Successes and challenges in the delivery of services for First Nations communities.
Integrating E-Health Technology: Linking or integrating generic e-health initiatives with telehealth; pilots of EHR/telehealth projects/ programs; how hospital information systems work with telehealth networks.
Best Practice and/or Standards related to Telehealth: Clinical practice guidelines; formal or informal policies; or relevance, utility or appropriateness of standards.; measuring and evaluating clinical outcomes.
